I recently found a Icelandic band called Stillbirth, they claim the play Extreme Metal, and frankly I like them... extremely...
I'm not a big metal fan, used to be in my teens though and this really brought up some old memories

Anyways you can download 3 of their songs here

So what do you think ?

This is fun, Jorath...though it's only the 2nd time I've ever heard a band from Iceland (the first being Quarashi (sp?)).

I like the piano...that's something I never really thought could be properly incorporated into metal, but they do a decent job.

I like them, thanks Jorath. I thought their vocals could have been louder relative to the other instruments (which is hard indeed when you sing like that lol) and they make good use of vocal harmony, which isn't too common with this kind of thrashy black metal.

From a bassist's perspective, they've got quite a bit of stamina, especially in The Other World. I think I like that one the best.

By the way, Finland's Children of Bodom also make excellent use of keyboard IMO, and they've got a style similar to this, albeit much more 'keyed-up'.

Well when you they said they were making extreme metal I expected something more extreme

But it doesn't sound bad. Think I'll grow to like it

Children of Bodom keyboard lines are nearly the same to the same as their guitar lines. But they're really cool!
