I have a nice, new scanner. (Yippee!) But, I have a problem. When I scan my drawings in, the size of the images is like 20,000 KB, much too large for most sites, which have like a 150-260 Kb limit. How do I reduce the size of the images?

Save it in .jpg format, which will give a far smaller file than .bmp or .tga or anything else. But, keep the big version if you want to work with this image, because .jpg loses quality.

to reduce sizes of images use Photoshop, and then change the image size by using edit..image size..

however if not that, then you can also use Mspaint to make the picture smaller
by going
image...streach/skew.. and changing how small you want it..50% and so forth..

Yeah, you will need to scale the image down.
Because it is a scanned image, I assume it will be at a resolution over 2000x1500 or something

Yeah, it is quite large. Hmm, I guess that I need Photoshop. Thanks for the replies, guys.

Also, what program do you use to scan the images?
There may be an option to choose what resolution to scan with

Yeah I was just about to suggest Irfanview too. It's great for a free proggy...everyone should know about it.
