In my law class, we were talking about Credit Card offers through the mail, and some of the legal crap that goes along with all their hidden wording, but anyway, this one girl mentioned that she rarely gets mail anymore because she sent their letters back in the postage paid envelopes, but not filled out as they had hoped.
Therefore, I was thinking about a fun way for all of us i the U.S. to strike a big strike against unwanted trash mail by doing the following. Everyone open all solicitations for a credit card or other offer, and in big black letters write, "NO THANKS. STOP BOTHERING ME." Put it in their postage paid envelope. After receiving hundreds of these per day, I bet they realize that mailing crap is no longer a sensible thing to do.

I've done this for a while. I write "No -- Remove from mailing list" across the letter and send it back.
I used to remove my personal information, but realized they wouldn't be able to remove me... A friend of mine empties his trash can into those envelopes... ![]() Unfortunately, some of them have gotten smarter. They're replaced the envelopes with 800 numbers. That has prompted me to keep a list that if I'm ever bored with nothing to do, I can certainly run up their phone bill... ![]()
