Well, it's like this - I have a flash file and I need to manipulate it. Nothing fancy, I just need to change the text in the animation.
Since I am totally new at flash, I was wondering - is it best to just download a trial version of Macromedia Flash MX and try and figure it out from there? Or is there an easier way? If anyone out there is really savvy with the program and is capable of changing the text for me, please do drop me a PM, since I get the feeling this will take me five hours and someone flash-smart less than five minutes. Thanks a million, any help will be really appreciated.

I used flash ages ago. From what I can remember it's VERY intuitive and simple to use, so just download the trial version and do it yourself. It's kinda idiot-proof.

I downloaded the trial but geez... it's really complicated. Like learning HTML all over again. I didn't know flash involved scripting etc. - I thought it was more a WYSIWYG program. Eh well...

Well the thing is the Flash program uses .fla files which are the files you can open and edit, but the finished animation file is .SWF file which is not editable in Flash.
Kind of like in a Programming language where you can't edit the compiled .exe file. |

Thanks for the tip, Jorath, and thanks for the offer, Gnarf. I finally got the hang of it and edited the file, but when I upload it, it still shows the old one. It's like it doesn't want to replace it. Really weird. I can delete the file from the net and nothing will load, but when I put up the edited flash file, it still shows the original one. I think I'm just gonna give up.
