I have to do a presentation of famous hungarians for civilization class here at university in France. I would like to ask your help in telling me which hungarians you think are known internationally. Any help is appreciated.
Note: the assignment is for wednesday.

I did a poll on this a while back - if you can find that then it shows who's heard of which hungarians. But I'd say at least Puskas, Rubik, Bartok and Liszt are famous enough, off the top of my head.

[/QUOTE]Wow, I'm impressed that a non-hungarian has heard of Petofi and Gardonyi! I learnt about Nagy in history in England so am not surprised about that, but I don't think Petofi ever had any of his work translated? And Gardonyi - has he had his books translated? If so, have you read "The Invisible Man" (A Láthatatlan Ember)? - It's about some young guy in the Roman Empire at the time of Attila the Hun - is a bloody good book.
