nope, buy the book you cheapskate...
And I know GW has had sites that post stats on their message boards shut down and sued for copyright infringement, and I bet we don't want to see that happen to IW. So buy the book it's worth it. |

Yeah, Games Workshop is AMAZING at keeping their over-inflated prices up up up up and preventing copyright infringement. They WILL take action -- first a warning, followed shortly by the lawyers. If they didn't price (exceptionally nice) metal miniatures that cost $1 to make and get to market at $12.99, I wouldn't tell them what BASTARDS they are. Oh, well, painted stuff on eBay is way cheap.
![]() Oh, and having dropped like $5K on GW stuff over the years, I'm entitled to bitch. ![]() [ 01-06-2004, 05:53 PM: Message edited by: Timber Loftis ] |

Well I apologise for calling you cheap... it's true its a bit overpriced, but it's not like GW is forcing anyone to buy it, or play it for that matter. But I'd definetly recommend you buy the book because there are some very important rule changes in it plus all the characters since the first release except for the "Shadow and Flame" supplement figure, well the dwarfs are in it but not the elves and the wizards from that book.
Oh and if you want to read more about this game or get painting guides and stuff like that: try this site The Last Alliance |

Do you not know many people who play LOTR, then, Haldir?

I've played some of the miniature games at a buddies house, but the cost always turned me off... everything seems so expensive for what you're getting. However, my boys have suggested an alternative. My youngest(8) has been collecting Megablox Dragon sets for a year or two, and now has quite a lot (10 dragons, 100 warriors (orc'ish kindof guys and knights) or so, and a ton of scenery... ships, castles, siege equipment, etc...
They've been bugging me to put together a game using his sets. I was thinking of starting with a standard miniatures rulebook and simplifying for the kids. Another idea was to have each figure represent a ccg character (we've got a LOT of cards... Warlord mostly, some Yu-Gi-Oh, some Magic) and adapt CCG rules to a tabletop environment. I'm not sure which way to go yet, but it should be a fun exercise in time wasting . |
