Why romances?

I didn't know romances were possible. Is it only for if you have a male main character? Does my female character have to be limited to paying for her trysts?

Romances for male mains: Jaheira, Aerie, Viconia.
For female mains: (Sir) Anomen.

Some more are put in with some of the mods floating around [img]smile.gif[/img]

You see, since the majority of gamers are guys, they have more guy romances and the women are stuck with Anomen. If you find him so insufferably obnoxious and cliched and such, too bad. I recommend the Solaufein Mod.. Only problem with that is that you don't get him till more than halfway through SoA, but too bad. If you want to have a decent romance, though, there is a way. You can edit the Global Variables in ShadowKeeper to get a female-female romance and try not to think about it.. I did that once, not cause it's kinky but because I just wanted a romance and I was currently playing a female char. Go into the Global Variables and add: CHECKAERIEMATCH AERIEMATCH CHECKVICONIAMATCH VICONIAMATCH CHECKJAHIERAMATCH JAHIERAMATCH AERIEROMANCEACTIVE JAHIERAROMANCEACTIVE VICONIAROMANCEACTIVE
Each of these variables should be given a value of 1.
I heard that there was supposed to be a Haer'Dalis romance but they never got around to it.. There MUST be a Haer'Dalis mod out there somewhere, but I've never seen it. Has anyone run across it?

No, there is currently no Hear'dalis romance available - maybe at development.
But about Hear'dalis - if both he and Aerie are in the party, Hear'dalis will romance her - even if you romance her, too!
It will eventually come to a blow, where Aerie will have to pick.

Global variable are basicaly a name that the game understands, and a number associateed with it. When a quest script runs, it looks at the relevant gvars and their values, and acts accordingly.

Therefore you can edit them to bypass the script that prevents aerie from romancing a female. You can do it thorugh CLUAConsole:SetGlobalVariable("",); (I think i got the syntax on that right but im not an LUA programmer so im not 100%, in any case there are examples on the ironworks cheat page)

Its easier to edit them through the ShadowKeeper program (search the web for it, its not hard to find) which allow you to edit them easily and without having to remember exact names.

Also noticed, all the possible romances involve blonds. Are us redheads not as enticing? Anyway, wouldn't it have made Yoshimo's betrayal more interesting if he could have been romancing the main character? Suitable for tabloid headlines: Man has child with Child of Bhaal.
