And I thought everyone should know
Yesterday was my first day at my new job, which is to recruit new members for Amnesty International. I happened to be recruiting in Groj's home town, and since he wanted to become a member anyway, he dropped by. Thanks to my huge stupidity (OK, I could also call it first-day-at-work-stress combined with having a nice chat) I completely forgot to ask him for the most important part of the deal: his signature... Thankfully, after I called him about it, he was kind enough to come all the way back to the city centre and complete my form so I would make my daily quotum (the job requirements are really strict: if you don't manage to get your target number of correctly filled out member applications each day, you will not get past your one month probationary period).
Oh and partly thanks to this, I made my target easily as the only person in my group, and made my first day at work if not a complete success, then at least a lot less scary than I thought it would be.

So anyway, onya Groj! Much, much appreciated!!

Booyah!
Nicely done, the both of you!
Ah, and we finally find out what that new job is then Mel? Seems suitably altruistic by your standards too. Heh heh, right on!

Ah, but if I understand it correctly, you didn't even need my subscription to crush ( ) the rest of the group? That's fantastic and a hopeful sign! You're a natural recruiter.
And today you're going to conquer Alkmaar, right? Good luck! Let's hope the weather will be better than yesterday, though.

Great going, and i bet you didn't even have to threaten him you'd use the whip if he wouldn't sign.

I doubt she had to use beer to bribe him either. He's not as dependant on that substance as you are Johnny.

By the way, if you don't mind my asking Mel, how did you hook that job up? Do you have friends at Amnesty International/The Recruiting Agency? Or did you apply yourself, from 'scratch' so to speak?

Dreamer, you're a doll!! Thanks mate, that was just so cool!!
Man, Ironworks rocks! Dreamer128 came to me in Alkmaar today and became a member as well! He's probably also the only guy in the history of the Netherlands who's ever complained about a surplus of "stufi" (study grant money)

Anyway, thanks again mate, you had me completely speechless there. Too funny

Aaron mate, I'll be brief about it since I'm absolutely smashed
I've been a member of Amnesty for quite a while now and when money became so tight I had to start looking around for a job, I immediately thought of this one. I'd seen people recruiting members for Greenpeace and so on before, so I just did a Google search for the kind of company that did this sort of thing. So in practise I work for Amnesty, but the administrative side is handled by a separate company. I really hope I can manage to get through the probationary period, but thanks to Groj and Dreamer at least I'm off on a good start!

Today's count: 12 new members! And all signatures included

Time for ordering pizza and crashing in front of the telly now....

Heh.. I made a special deal regarding my rent, which leaves me with more money then I really need. I have a monthly surplus of around 80 Euros (don't laugh, I'm a student ), and I'm glad I can put it to good use.
Keep up the good work, Mel.
