Anyone know if "Lxsupmon" is a valid windows xp tsk or is this a form of spyware/malicious programming?

Well, this is actually one great link you provided Storm!!

Now I can finally check all the programs running in my mem. Thats what i don't like about Windows, especially XP Pro: there are so many tasks and things running in your 'puter of which you don't know what they are!
