If you have ToB, pick the Blade. If you don't, better go with the Blade or Skald. Now, crack open your manual and try to figure out why I those are my preferences.
Best items? Well, do some easy quests to get your solo Bard up to a good level (16 or so), and then go to the basement of the Five Flagons Inn, in the Bridge District. Remember to recharge your good Wands, by selling them and buying them back.

2) Daystar is obtained elsewhere 3) Daystar is not good? Okayyyy... ... I guess you do not like weapons that can instant-kill undead foes. |

And Soloing makes a difference?i just sent in one guy with a flail of ages and kicked that liche dudes ass, well i did when i was in the right place, whats so special about the Five Flagons i havent found anything of interest there.and i dont not like the daystar its just not as good as the Silver Sword,SoulReaver+4 or even the BoneBlade Dagger in the right hands.

Silver Sword is only obtainable in Chapter 6. What is his Bard going to use until then, high hopes and expectations? Soul Reaver is obtained in Chapter 5, and it would be nice to have a good weapon by then in order to obtain it, since its owners are not exactly the nicest of people. Boneblade Dagger... you are seriously asking him to waste a proficiency point into Daggers? Even then, I would prefer the dagger that is obtained from the Planar Sphere quest. The Duchess' Stilleto, if I recall correctly. Spoiler ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The main reason for doing the Five Flagon's Inn quest is to get the Boots of Speed, argubly one of the most important piece of equipment for a soloist. |

Hello, and welcome to the forum!
As far as bard kits go, I prefer the Skald - you get a +1 bonus to hit and damage, and your bard song is far more powerful than it normally would be. Where items are concerned; the bracers of defence AC 3 are something you really should consider getting, you can find them in the Adventurers Mart. Also Dak'kon Zerth's Blade (from Deidre, the bonus merchant in the Adventurers Mart) is a good choice of sword; it's a +2 katana which gives you a +1 AC bonus and an extra spell for levels 1-4. The Ring of Protection +2 or the Ring of Gaxx are probably the best options you've got as far as rings go. Cloak of the Sewers (found in the temple district sewers) is a good idea too. This is all decent equipment for when you first start out in the game, you'll come accross other (and more powerful) items and weapons as you progress. Hope you have fun in the game as well as on the forum here And I can't say I'm a big fan of the Daystar either, Dundee |
