Durlag's Tower How Long Is This Level?

I just got past the chess game. How far am I from the end? I went there to level up befor i faught Sarovak. However now I have reached the exp cap and I am getting a little fed up. I want to get on with the main story now how much longer will I be here?

Hang in there. After the Chess game you have one more level to complete which should take an hour or two at most. The last fight in Durlag's is a good tester for grand finaly. You also will get one more good fight in Ulgoth's Beard to test your mettle before the Last showdown.

If you looked at Durlag's Tower as more of a side story line that effects the surrounding areas of Baldurs Gate; instead of just a way to get exp. I think you would maybe have enjoyed it more. I found Durlag's Tower to be quite satisfying and challenging. It don't just test your combat prowess, but your wits.

sure is frustrating, i hear all this stuf about chess, mallets,knights, and acid pools n' golems accept ive gone all the way to the top of d.tower,fought a ghost,fought this other thing,and the three basilisk at the top. accept all the other stuff hasent happened to me. are you supposed to do something to the chess table? HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP!!!!

If you really just want OUT, you don't need to do all of the final level --- just go past the Durlag ghost, up the hall, and talk to a female dwarf there. She can get you out...

Go downstairs from the first level and search for traps. There is a hidden door that will lead you to the quests that you have heard about.

Are some of the traps in Durlags Tower really un-disarmable or is my thief just a piece of shit? I'm using Coran at lvl 7 thief/level 6 fighter with 60 points of find traps and half of the time I'm getting this damn message of "trap not disarmed". So in order to get rid of the trap i have to just run my main character through it (he has the most HP of the party) and hope it doesn't kill me first time. It's really starting to piss me right off. Is it just my thief? Or is the whole dungeon just set out to be a chore and no fun at all?

I don't have this problem too often, but when it does come up I just keep trying to disarm it. Usually works in the end if you try enough times. I guess it works because you have a certain chance to disarm it and that is what the number is. So if you're at 80% like me, you have an 80% chance to disarm it. Is that the way it works or am I wrong?
