Please help, during the installation it keeps asking for a disk 5. I have tried everything.

Reintering Disk 1. Inserting TOB. Nothing works.

Please help.

OK, first remove all BG2 files that still exist on your harddisk (the only thing you can keep are old savegames you want to keep - put them in a folder somewhere). Then, start a new, clean install. When it asks for CD2, put it in your CD-ROM drive, but do NOT click 'OK'. Instead, wait for about 1-2 minutes until it's completely spun out. THEN, click OK. IF it worked, it will not go on to ask for CDs 3,4 and 5 immediately, but procceed the installation from CD2. Repeat the same pattern for CDs 3 and 4: when the PC prompts you to put the next CD in, WAIT some time before you click OK.

This worked for me when I had the same problem - hope it helps in your case as well! Good luck

But does it ask for Disc 5 as soon as you start installation?
You shouldn't put in Disc 1 when it asks for 5: it shouldn't ask for disc 5 at all. Did you go through 1, 2, 3 and 4 before it asked for 5 or not?

delete your hard drive.

then install BG2 and ToB.

or, just keep installing until it works. I had it happen once on recommended (but CD1 worked as CD5) but never had it happen on full install.

But when it prompted for CD2, did you wait long enough (try two minutes at least) before you clicked OK? You have to do this EVERY time you put in the next CD or it won't work.
It worked for me after a few times, and for a number of other people as well (can't find original post though as search function is temporarily disabled)
