LARPing!

Anyone out there in Ironworks land go larping? specifically.. in atlanta? my friends have been doing it for some time, and i think im going to try it, NERO to be exact. sounds like a lot of fun!

*note* For those of you who don't know what larping or nero is, larp stands for Live Action Role Playing, Nero is a type of larp.. like a d&d game hundred of people go and act out during the course of a weekend, day, even sometimes a full week. you can make a PC, or NPC and play monsters and stuff. you can also play merchants, and sell items or work in the Tavern.

i hope its as fun as my friends say, its quite safe too. you have tio be 13+ to play, so there are few kids, swords are make from PVC pipes padded all around, spells are packets filled with bird seed (you say the spell then throw your packet). Some people go there and just play merchants the whole time, setting up a shop and selling everything from scrolls to pie [img]smile.gif[/img] . If it is for 2 days or longer you have cabins in the park (the park it is held at, the park is reserved for larping only) so it keeps you in character all the time. there are guilds, orders, dragons, liches, everything in the video games but you get to act it out yourself!

I sure you can find information on it easily, do a search for LARP or NERO (the biggest one, ateast here in the states) and you should find some. it is nationwide here in america, i am not sure about other countrys though, but i am confident that there will be some there to. im suprised that no one (so far) on IW has even heard of it, cept me!

. just go to google or yahoo and search for live action role play or nero + your city or something and you should find information. i cant get the link to the main NERO site and post it on here, so you might be able to search that way too.
