They are now the proud bearers of the lowest score in international one-day Cricket!

From CricInfo.com
Quote:
Sri Lanka crushed international minnows Canada with embarrassing ease at Paarl on Wednesday, completing a nine-wicket win inside two hours without the majority of their players even breaking into a sweat.

Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya had promised beforehand that his players would retain their focus against the amateurs, who had pulled off a shock victory against Bangladesh, but he could scarcely have expected such a clinical performance.

New-ball bowlers Prabath Nissanka and Chaminda Vaas shared seven wickets as Canada were bowled out for a miserable 36, the lowest-ever score in a one-day International, surpassing the 38 scored by Zimbabwe against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in 2001.

Marvan Atapattu, renowned more for steady accumulation than adventure, then launched into the Canadian bowling, scorching 24 runs off 14 balls and ensuring the victory target was reached in just 4.4 overs.
Here are the lowest totals: for those interested

LoL...
Game over in under two hours

if I'm not mistaken it took Sri Lanka 4.4 overs to make the score... Canada sure lived up to their tag of world cup 'minnows'

Though really its a shame to see them lose so badly, after their triumph over Bangladesh... such is life I guess

I wonder if there are any Canadians who'll lose sleep over this.

haha laugh it up!

These minnows did good to get there.. and beside i think the previous lowest score record was set by another Canadian squad in the late seventies.. so at least they worsted themselves!

I'm not going to make fun of the Canadian team. Down here in Texas we haven't been able to train any crickets to hit for power and they all suck at bowling. I doubt we will ever field a team for the prelims much less contend for the cup.
