Sorry if this is old news here. I've been out of the loop except my seeking of advice for a good PC game. Anyway, Infogames will be publishing a new 3rd edition rules D&D RPG by Troika games that is supposed to come out this June 2003. They are utilizing the old Temple of Elemental Evil module from the PnP golden days of TSR. If anyone has played this module you know it was MASSIVE in scope. The lead designer is an avid D&D player. I'm sorry that I can't give you access to the article that is at Gamespot because I don't know how to do that! Here are some things that I remember quite distinctly in my read:
a. Alignment will play a significant role in the game. b. An evil aligned party will be playable! c. The game is to be nonlinear. d. Tons of sidequests. e. Quests can be completed in several ways. * For those of us who remember the Greyhawk D&D world with fondness this is like music to our ears! What a tremendously immersive world it is. |

Of course, anything can happen. Greyhawk: The Temple of Elemental Evil can be great, average, or a flop. Nevertheless, it seems very promising. By the way PoR2 is set in the Forgotten Realms world; TToEE is set in the World of Greyhawk. |

Hey, I'll buy it, even if it isn't Forgotten Realms. Any estimate on when it'll be out? EDIT: Whoops, now I see, June, 2003.
