Sir T. How is it any different from what is already done? All this new system will do is make the government more efficient in handeling the information. That information is already available and has been for years. I think it may actually save money for you and I because they will be more efficient. If you want to protest about what information is available, all you have to do is refuse to give information to department stores, grocery stores and quit using credit cards. You have a choice. We just usually choose convenience over prudence anyway, I don't think it is something that should get your hackles up

BAD IDEA!

I can imagine a hacker or spy that only needs to hack one giant, heavily gaurded database to obtain lots of information about an American instead of a myriad of small ones.

Also, I fear for the people ALREADY persecuted by the drug war. We will continue to see an increase in our prison population and it won't be terrorists.

How easy we forget COINTELPRO. Goverment should keep a database on CRIMINALS, not citizens.

Besides, the sheer principle of the matter. The ideaology of personal liberty, already a precious commodity, is at stake.

Can you name any person that has ever successfully hacked NSA? or any of the 1000 most secure servers in the security net?

Security when done right is effective.

I have to agree with MagiK, there would be almost no way for it to be hacked : it would be guarded immensely. Can you possibly imagine the lawsuits?

I imagine that information is classified.

Don't you ever watch movies? We all know that a 6-year-old autistic child would hack into them in no time...

Grojlach!!!!!! Shhhhhh don't go giving out our state secrets

Seriously though, there is actually no physical way to hack the systems Im tlaking about, they aren't connected directly to any outside machines. The only hackers who could attack it are the CERT teams inside the agency and then only because they can lay hands on the hardware. The government and military everyone ehars about being hacked are always the ones with direct outside connections.

All this hoopla really is just about them trying to get organized instead of being the usual government FUBAR operation.
