Things you wished you could discuss with *any* NPC?

*sigh*, trying again here because I messed myself up the other time, heh...

What are the kinds of things you always wished you could say to/hear from/do with an NPC--meaning, in general, and NOT IN SPECIFIC, not "I wish Cernd would tell me I have a nice arse" but more like "I wish somebody would ask me about my past in Candlekeep more" or "I wish somebody would freak out about me being a Bhaalspawn instead of acting like they see it everyday".

This is for a mod that I am doing, and "I wish Jaheira would comment more on the druid quests" is not something that will help me.

I agree totally. Planescape: Torment has far better developed NPCs than in BG2, and thus is a great resource for anyone looking to develop additional dialog for the NPCs in BG2. There are only 7 NPCs in that game, because they are so totally fleshed out that you can only fit 7 in the game. And they run the entire gamut of personality types, from psychos to sarcastic comedians to philosophers. Definitely worth checking out.

I do have it, but haven't gotten a chance to play it, yet... still, I have watched over my father's shoulder enough to know that it seems utterly awesome.

I also know that there are some dialogues that are PC-triggered; I'm going to be doing that for Rowan, similar to the flirt pack but not quite the same. I plan so far to have things like personal information on what she thinks of the PC's leadership, how she feels about the class/kit of the PC, how she feels at the moment, her opinion of the PC's current company, and some physical (action) options like hugging or throwing your arm around her shoulder or making a funny face at her.

Thanks for responding, by the way. [img]smile.gif[/img] Anything else you might add to the list, or maybe something you think might be fun for her to comment on about the PC? Such as telling an orc he's got spinach in his tusks, or asking a dwarf if she can comb his beard?
