Does ANYONE in the world plan to make a D&D like fantasy movie?

With the exception of LotR, is anyone doing or going to do a fantasy movie? Or better yet, a D&D movie? Would be fun to see a BG or IWD movie [img]smile.gif[/img] .. or perhaps a movie about Drizzt or Elminster..

There was a movie called dungeons and dragons last year.

Opinions vary as to how much it sucked, but I think it was watchable if nothing else. Might make an entertaining night in if acompanied by alcohol and LOTR wasnt available. NOthing special either way. (Nice dragons though)

Well I'm not so sure about live action, but Lodoss war stuff comes out all the time... All sorts of D&D related phantasy Anime out there... Like The Ruin Explorers

As for a D&D movie with Elminster.... Only if he died painfully in it.

I'd much rather have an FF7 movie.

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Elminster annoying. I just hated it when Imoen went off with him. Wasn't there a Final Fantasy movie, with the actors computer-generated? Or was that something else? How about Drizzt, he should be a natural for a movie. Who would you cast as him? Denzell Washington in a white wig? Or Brad Pitt in blue makeup?

Personally id love to see a 'Belgeriad' film, even more so than LOTR's actually! I think it is just THAT good!

There was a Final Fantasy movie, Attalus, but it had more or less 0% Final Fantasy in it [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Most Final Fantasy games have a combination of technology and magic/medieval times. The movie had 0% magic. It also lacked other Final Fantasy elements, I believe, like Chocobos.
