Me and a few of my friends have a fetish of fighting with someone. It all started when one night, me and my best friend started fighting with eachother. We loved it! It was so fun ! We sometimes did hit eachother with full force(enough to cause bruises) but we made up a few certain rules - No hitting in the crotch, head or the nerve spot in the stomach(that nerve spot is named 'the triangle' in Estonia but i don`t know about you guys). I was inspired by "Fight Club" and "Jackass". Yep, teenagers have gone comepletely mad .
Now, the question sounds like this - is it physically healthy? Does it improve or decrease pain resistance(If my friend beats the s**t out of me every day for an year, my blunt weapon resistance must be atleast 80% !)? I belive it does help me mentally. Think about it - if i would have never been in a fight in my whole life and suddenly a big bully would attack me, i would be in panic!

hm, my friend was in something like this in London...he got SERIOUSLY hurt doing it. But then, he was 18, and it was London.
I really can't speak for anyone else, but fighting sometimes helps me. It used to, anyway. Now I run. It's a lot safer, and there are a LOT more girls who join

Well... actually just as long as you know when to stop and no one goes too far, I don't see anything wrong with it, especially if you enjoy it. On the other hand I don't know how much it helps mentally... maybe you should read a book instead... might I suggest your local library (shameless plug for a dying thread... ).

actually i did do full contact in much martial arts training to improve the pain threshold. However, Qi Gung is more effective as blows have no effect

i once made a few people wincee by explaining being hoofed in the nuts repeatedly until i was used to it. Now, if anybody tries that, it just pisses me off

But Uss, you really have to know when to stop. Don't go out on the streets picking fights either.

It might help your fighting ability, but I can' imagine it's healthy.

Does it increase resistance to pain? Maybe. It's probably more to do with knowing what to expect. The "known" is always less intimidating than the "unknown".

I have heard nearly every repeat gunshot victim I've had contact with say, "this is nothing compared to the first time." This excludes those shot in a delicate area. Face, fingers, crotch, etc.

I'm going to sign up with the "running away" club.

Hmm, that reminds me - Today, when i was coming home with a bus, me and Junn(lets pretend thats my friends name ) started hitting eachother again. Everybody started watching us . I repeatedly hit him enuff painfully to piss him off a bit. He then said:"When we get off this bus, im gonna kick your ass." he was only 1/4 serious but when we did get off the bus, he hit me enough hard to make me fall on the ground and then he gave me 3 good swings on the nerve spot on by back and then some on my shoulder(ouch..). but i did manage to get up in about 10 secs and i delivered him one big swing on his shoulder. And thats when the bus full of the confused people drove away . But no emotional harm done. He bought a big bag of chips as we happily went into our homes together. The moral of the story? Emotional pain is much worse than physical .

I am more into the wrestling fight than the throwing punches...I gotta friend who s big into Martial arts, but I can take him with great effort on my part if he plays my game of wrestling. I am faster and more agile than he is in that aspect. It is fun, and the only serious hurt I have ever gotten was skinned up on the carpet.
