how about jumping up and down in front of the PC to shake loose dirt off?

or maybe wearing a light coloured skirt to solve a monitor issue

Maby you can trie this push the "start" button in there you find "run" push there and in there you can write "msconfig" then in there look at "startup" push there and look for the program you will NOT have starting when windows booting up then this problem should be gone i think!! Also uncheck the box with the program.

Actually, Megabot's right on the money there! Msconfig is the place to go to stop Audiogalaxy from loading on startup. Tell us how you go!

As far as the virus goes, if you're sure it's a virus, then a virus checking software may be worthwhile. Otherwise, format and rebuild and you'll get rid of all your problems.

I rebuild my PC about once every 6 months just to clean it up. It helps to keep everything running smoothly, and gets rid of any problems (like the ones you mentioned)

I think that virus is a variation of the klez. There should be a klez fixer somewhere at this place

Is a format every 12 months and defrag every 2 or 3 as effective as that ??

If that works for you LennonCook, then great! It really depends on how much junk you download from the Internet. I've got friends who just can't help cluttering up there computer with every free bit of software on the web, and then they wonder why they have so many problems.

I've learnt from experience to just keep the bare minimum installed at all times. I got over pretty wallpapers and themes and other such novelties a long time ago! I just want performance.
