DO MY HIT POINTS EVER GO UP?

Ok, *every* time I level up, my fighters (PC, Minsc, Jaheira) get 3HP. 3! Each should be getting 10, Jah 9, right? Am I messed up about this? Plus the CON bonus. But every time, it's 3. And I Qsave before each lvl up, and try over and over, and I never get anything different. Most of my other characters get 1 or 3 up consistently. It's driving me crazy. Do I have the whole idea of this wrong? I know in BG1 I was going up 6 and 8 and 10 per level...

I might be wrong about it but my lvl 18 fighter/berseker was gettin about 3 hp per level from the first lvl up til he reached lvl 18, perhaps with high lvl chars it might be different but til now only 3 hp per level to me.

I had that problem too. Therefore I have three ideas about why this might happen.

1. You are just randomly getting 3 HP every time (very unlikely).

2. You have it on "novice" mode. This takes randomness out ot HP increases, but I don't know how many HPs it gives you. (most likely).

3. There is a bug in the game (possible, not probable).

Anyway, I hope you figure this out!

Lioness,

all characters only get their 'full' hit points until they reach level 9.

From level 10 onwards they all get fixed hp gains when they level up - fighter types get 3 hp, clerics, thieves & bards get 2 hp, mages get 1 hp. Also any CON bonus doesn't apply from level 10 on.

Kez

Yah, what Kez sez jives with what is written in my PHb. Once you reach level 9, you get a fixed number of hp/level.

Makes sense. Otherwise your characters would be running around with 250 hp.

So you always get the same amount of hp no matter what level of difficulty you have it on?
