I started a new game and don't know if I aline my self with the cale wizardes do I still get the sphere?

You get the Sphere only if you're a Mage. And the rest of this post will be spoilers.

You need Valygar or his body to enter the Sphere. But after you have opened the door, you can just give him to the Cowled Wizards, and align with them, cause you will eventually end up in a battle with them anyway, inside the Sphere.
