The DM gives extra exp if i play my alignment correctly(i dont know if thats what DMs traditionally do), plus, its more fun to play that way. when we went to the DMs place for character creation, the others all picked good(mostly neutural good) alignments and being a crazed weirdo, i chose my favourite alignment, which is Chaotic Neutural(the alignment of the crazy ). just today i realized that my alignment is very difficult to play, so can you please give me some advice how to play it? some good examples would be nice .

One of my players who is a halfling CN thief never does the same thing twice, and always does exactly what you dont want him too, like start singing right before an ambush or lighting his pipe inside the fireworks shop. Of course there was giving all his money to a Paladin just to see if he would take it, and then stealing it back later before the Paladin could donate it all.

The list could go on and on and on. Do the unexpected, unexpectedly. Confess to crimes you didnt commit, Charge in and attack a giant single handedly. Have fun!!!!!!!!!

No, that's too cheesy.

Chaotic Neutral characters should have utter disrespect for all established values (save a choice few). They don't care about if this or that is scorned upon by general society. They might be crazy and random in their actions but don't have to behave utterly stupid, like giving away their hiding party members by starting to sing (unless they wanted to give away their party).

Chaotic Neutral characters doesn't care too much about doing the "good" thing since that is just another set of tiring conventions. They do, however, not have a malicious streak and they don't like to commit cruelty.

EXP for playing your class right O_o ? Eh! I healed 2 amathyst dragons and refused to touch a set of stinking courpses even though I was supposed to do a twisted resurection with them and I didn't get a DIME of EXP... BAH

i shouldn't complain, though, after all, i did do death's door and kill 7 Dragonliches with that spell that was enough EXP for today hehehe ^_^;

as far as your class goes, i think it's a lot less confusing than a Necromantic ranger, because Necromancers do magics which are sometimes kind of evil (like plague) but as long as I use them for a "good" reason I won't lose my ranger-hood... >_>

go figure!

If you're playing a chaotic neutral character, think of him/her as trying to make the most of ther lives. Rules are only a restriction, life is about having fun. If you feel like taking a risk, go gambling. What you gamble away doesn't matter, because once it isn't yours anymore, why should you worry about it?
In some ways the CN alignment is like the NE alignment, except that you're not after power.
Your character has a hyperactive imagination and is constantly thinking of new ways to have fun, and carrying them out.

If he or she is travelling with a party trying to do good and someone's telling your character about a great evil, and you thinkk it's fun to push that person's nose and make a BEEP sound, by all means do. You aren't crazy, just free to enjoy life as you see fit.

The unpredictability comes from your desire to keep trying new things as old ones grow boring, and whatever ideas pop into your head. One day you may want to go out and kill an orc because you wonder how his clothes would look on you, another you stay indoors because you want to roll the dice that day or simply avoid the orc's stinking breath.

You feel there's no need for rules, and there's no need to explain yourself to others. Those are the main aspects of the alignment. Why you became an adventurer (and stick with the party) and what you think is fun is up to you.

Do nothing you do not want to do.

Do not be bound by the laws of others, for they do not have your best interests at heart. Laws are made by those who serve themselves, so let your laws be your own and change them when you wish.

Do not be set in your ways. It is not weak to change your mind. It is weak to stick to beliefs which are no longer the truth.

Enjoy life while it lasts, for happiness is transient.

See as much as you can. There's beauty in not knowing what's coming around the next corner; surprises are fun and stop a body getting stuck in the dreary ruts of life.

Live to act - do not make assumptions about what you haven't experienced.

Open your mind and learn!
