It seems to have gone unnoticed over here, but Kadima have won the Israeli general election with Likud falling to a surprise 5th place.

Demography is the key to Olmert's plans for Israel apparently.

Question Mark

We're too busy distracting oursleves with illegal immigration discussions and French riots to notice Israeli elections.

Home for a week... glory to the Baron!

Now on a more serious note:

Kadima has 28/120 seats. It means that it will have problems forming coalition without some right wing elements.
Likud-12
Shas (Ultra -ortodox) party:12
Our Home Israel (the party of Avigdor Liberman. Supports territory exchange. Pragmatic right.) :11
Yahadut ha Tora (another ultra ortodox):6
National Union-9.
Arabs:10
The party of Old men (pensioners. i do not joke. they were so surprised at finding themselves among the "chosen" that no one knows about their opinion on the palestinian issue. They have entered the knesset because a lot of old people were sick of getting screwed by the government.) : 7
Labor party:20
Meretz (left):5.
Kadima:28

Olmert has problems. Big ones. It is "vulture time" and the corpse of our budget is not so big that he can divide it at his will.
