Hurricane Dennis just blew through, and Tropical Storm Emily is on the way. It's still way out in the Atlantic, but 4 of the 6 predicted tracks are pointed at Florida. One keeps it south of Cuba, and one says it'll just fizzle out. We're at the wrong end of a shooting gallery...

Yeah, I've said for over 3 years now that Florida should be renamed to "The rainy state". I mean crap, our lawn is so soaked, we can even MOW it!!

The weatherman on my local TV station showed 6 possible tracks on the 11pm news last night. 4 of them were aimed at us. The track in your link looks like the 1 that kept the storm south of FL. Yes, it'll take Emily over a week to get here, but according to the weatherman she will be visiting. I've searched the station's website but can't find the graphic with all 6 tracks. I'll keep looking...

I don't know if it works the same way down there, but I've learned not to trust local weathermen in New York. They generally have an intrest in making the storm sound as bad as possible. If the storm sounds bad then more people are going to want to keep track of the weather, which means higher ratings for the local news.

Very true Seraph, so true. Thats why I go where the weathermen GET the data, and where pros go and talk.. the real deal. If you want to visit the forum, go to:

It was a bad hurricane season last year and this year it's started early so we can only hope it doesn't get much worse than this!
