I can't seem to find the portraits directory in which to place the images I've downloaded from this site. I read the "read-me" file and tried following the instructions for custom portraits; however, I can't find a folder or directory titled "portraits." Where might I find this folder?
(If this is a dumb question, please forgive me--I'm still learning Windows).

You have to create the directory "Portraits" inside the Baldur´s Gate directory.

Thanks . . . I did that, but now, I don't know how to "unzip" these files (once again, I have my unfamiliarity with Windows to thank for that). Have you (or anyone else) been using these portraits from Iron Works? How do you unzip them into the Portraits directory you create, and how will the game know to access these portraits when choosing a character's appearance?
(Also, after unzipping these files, will they been divided into the larger and smaller pictures so that I can title them differently?)

Any help would be appreciated?

Get your hands on winzip. You can normally find a copy with most recent computer mags...

You have to place the .zip file in the portraits directory. Then, if you have Winzip, simply double-click on it and select "extract". Default directory is the current, so press OK and it´s done.
In the game, when selecting your character´s portrait, click "custom" and the portraits you have will appear.
