Be aware today how your mind is shaped and controlled by the influences in your environment.

On the Internet, Patrick Lynch offers some good suggestions for keeping your wits during the fearful and unpredictable times ahead:

"Begin by reducing the amount of fear in your life...by rationing how much media you let into your brain every day. Why? Because your life becomes what you think about. And if you keep overdosing on the media's constant fear and hype and speculation, you're going to stay scared and shut down. Sure, you've got to know what's going on...and, if you stay focused, you can keep up with a lot less anxiety.

"Second, REFUSE to let the terrorists stop you. REFUSE to run and hide and live in fear and dump your dreams and spend the rest of your days 'playing it safe.' Talk about a life that sucks!

"Finally, REFUSE to let other people and institutions and organizations tell you what to do and when to do it and how. YOU KNOW what's best for you. And if you find that hard to swallow, just ask the people who made it OUT of the World Trade Center BECAUSE they followed their OWN knowing and decided to leave...instead of following their supervisor's orders to go back to their desks because 'everything's going to be OK.'

"In today's strange New World, the rules have changed...and we've got to quit believing all those authorities in our lives who keep telling us what to say, think, and do...and start believing ourselves, thinking for ourselves, trusting what WE know...and telling all those 'well-meaning' people and institutions who keep telling us to 'cool it,' 'take it easy,' be more 'prudent,' 'slow down,' quit being so 'weird,' 'strange,' so 'out of the box'...to TAKE-A-HIKE!!!

"I don't care if it's finding a new job or going back to school or moving to a farm in Wisconsin. All I care about is that you do, NOW, what you've been craving...that you keep growing and learning and making your dreams come true, regardless of what happens...because if you quit you might as well be dead."

That's a rotten way to live. Today is a good day to THINK for your SELF and to KNOW your own MIND. Choose to be WHO you are. Decide for yourself WHAT you are doing here in the world. Remember: "As you THINK, so shall it BE."

ABSOLUTELY!

That is a great message, no matter which "side" of the War Debate you're on.
