Any other huge baseball fans out there? What team do you root for?

I'm a huge Mets fan!

Well, guess which team I root for.

I already have tickets to one game this season at Wrigley. We bought tickets to a Pirates game. I don't know how good a Pirates game will be, but we have friends scheduled to visit that weekend in May, and they want to see a Cubbies game, so we got the Tix.

I'll also surely attend my firm's annual outing to the Cubs game that is included as one of the activities offered as part of the Summer Associates program. That event will, as always, be held at one of the Skyboxes on Waveland Ave. overlooking baseball's finest and smallest field.

Here's to hoping our pitchers, particularly Woods, can stay in tip-top condition. Without the pitching staff, the season could be bleak. At least we got rid of Sosa, finally.

Speaking of which, I wonder if Sosa will sell his Chicago home. He currently owns the 60th Floor of Lake Point Tower, a residential building typically having many units per floor. I bet it will sell for $5 Million or more, if anyone is looking for a new home in a historic building with a great view of Lake Michigan as well as the city of Chitown.

Another interesting sidenote is one regarding the White Sox. My new rooftop deck, on the 4th floor of my condo, has a view (from about 5 blocks away) of the White Sox' US Cellular Field (formerly Comisky). I have not yet experienced baseball season from the deck, but I'm intending to get some furniture and a grill, so hopefully I'll be able to sit out there and hear the games. Of course, my firm also has a box at US Cellular, as we represent the White Sox (and have partners with vested interests), so I'll probably also attend our annual White Sox outing as well. While the Waveland event with the Cubbies is great, the Cubbies being my team of choice, our box at US Cellular is incomparable and comes complete with a stocked bar and attendant waiters/bartenders.

So, I'm looking forward to an enjoyable season.

I'm a very satisfied (finally) Red Sox fan. I doubt they will repeat but after last year who really gives a damn.

I don't know why I posted this in the Current Events forum. If a Mod wants to move this to General Discussion, it's fine with me.

Must be nice to know that feeling. Still shouldering Billy Goat curses over here, I'm afraid.
