Problem cheating with Keldorn

I´ve beaten BG2 before so I´m playing again just for the fun. I wanted to make the besta party posible and got Keldorn (arsorimyr rules and since I´m not a a paladin anymore I need someone who can use it) But Keldorn´s kit, doesn´t allow him to cast priest spells which is a pain, so I decide to change that with shadowkeeper and make hi a true class paladin. However, he still can´t cast. Do I need to change anything else? Am I out of luck? PLease help. He´s a level 9 true class paladin who can´t cast spells (I did give him 2 1st level, but the magic icon is black) or turn undead.
