i guess its official now that both bush and his lapdog (or was it the other way round) said in their speeches that they went to iraq to liberate it, to oust evil saddam, etc etc... without one mention of the dreaded and deadly womds that threatened the whole world.

let this be a lesson to all those that blindly trust their govts word. all govts lie, its just a matter of not being naive enough to trust them. oh, wait... but siria has those womds now dont they...?

Governments always lie to their people to achieve their own ends (Australian Government: The boat people through their children overboard to force us to let them into the country. [several days later] Oh yeah and their boat happened to be sinking at the time).

Even though WOMD have pretty much proven not to be in Iraq I still think we (the coalition) should of gone in. Saddam was an evil despot who should of been taken out in the last Gulf War.

It's really rather arrogant to suggest it here since everyone here follows the issues and makes their own decisions without having to be led by the nose by their government or anyone else. Just because people have agreed with a position doesn't mean that are mindless followers any more than someone's disagreeing with that position makes them an intuitive genius. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Of course the basic idea of your post is correct, if not complete. Those who would follow their governments blindly would certainly be ignorant. Every bit as ignorant as those who would blindly oppose their government's actions.

Well, he HAD WoMD once and have used them, but if he had them at the time of the attack is a different issue altogether. If neither Bush nor Blair mentioned them, I haven't heard the speeches so I don't know, doesn't automatically mean that they don't believe they exist, just that they haven't found anything yet. If they exist at all, that is.

If they haven't found anything of course they're gonna talk more about how evil Saddam was and that they have gotten rid of him, rather than WoMD.

why is everyone wondering if he had them? it was american companies that sold the weapons to him in the first place! Careful, don't go pointing fingers at only one country now. Add in Germany, France, N. Korea, China, USSR/Russia ect. and you have a more complete picture.

US government should have said the truth from the beginning (i.e. "Ok, we go there to kiss Saddam goodbye").
Instead of that they started by : "Omg omg omg he has womd lets go lets go, c'mon guys, pls lets go lets go", followed by (when they were there) : "Hey guys, we're here to free you in fact".

I don’t know if you remember, but before the US went to war against Iraq, they forced Sadam to make a report of all his mass destruction weapons activities. And after a while he agreed, a report of 12000 pages was made. The report claimed that all of the “illegal” weapons were destroyed. But the UK and US administrations discarded the report as a “fake” (dunno the word for it).
Now that the war has “ended” and nothing illegal has been found, one might start to think that Sadam was telling the truth, and therefore were following the commands mad by the UN.
If my hypothesis is correct, one might say that the coalition has engaged in an illegal war, and they have therefore made them self’s terrorists, by killing Iraqi civilians (8000 I think it is up to now) and destroying Iraq property.

P.s. Denmark was also a part of the coalition. I am ashamed!
