Read about it here!

Sorry evil so and so's I bet they only added the clause to the EULA after one of their slimy lawyers warned them about removing software without informing the user first...

I dont use anti-virus software because I have a deep fear of resident programs. If i want a virus scan ill go use one of the online ones, its not as good but it catches most things, and it consumes zero resources when not in use.

I dont use firewall because they screw up games on the internet, and i cant be bothered telling it what ports I want to use.

Besides, I keep all my confidential stuff in Linux, and those drives arent even visible to windows.

Firewall is probably not that important if you're on a dial-up connection. If you're on a permanent IP connection like DSL or Cable Modem, it's pretty important to keep someone from hacking you.

However, it's running a major risk to be on the Internet nowadays without a virus protection package running. With so many pop-ups and hidden scripts running, you can get something downloaded to your computer without your being aware of it.

True, but since i dont have an address book and keep sensitive stuff hidden from windows i can get away with it. I think ive been infected twice in the last year, both times by my brothers sites.

Amen...And you can turn the AV off when your not one-line and configuring for one-line games is pretty easy if you have a good firewall.

Adaware is a staple run on all my systems. I get a warm fuzzy feeling everytime it uncovers and kills a spyware package.

I smell a lawsuit coming...
