I'm preparing a battle for the staff of magi and I want to launh my spells'n scrolls in the right sequence for maximum defence.
It's about the duration of spells:
I found somewhere in the manual that 1 round is about 6 seconds, but some spells measure their duration in turns( ex scroll :protection from undead).
So, how many rounds is there in 1 turn?
Please, anyone?

There are 10 rounds in a turn... and the best way to figure out what order to cast them in is by duration of course... cast the really long lasting spells (Protection from evil 10ft radius, resist fear) Before casting the short duration spells(defensive harmony, negatvie Plane Protection)

1 round of game time is about 6 seconds, this is true, a turn is 10 rounds(minutes of game time), and an hour (of game time) is 6 turns

You can find all the old ones + a host of others in the graphics library at the top of the page

Need some help here, just loaded SOA for the first time. Is there anything I need to do to get the full experience of the game like download addons? Should I create a party of 6 or leave a few open? Please advise been playing UO and EQ all my life trying something new to get ready for NWN.

You'll need to buy Throne of Bhaal (which is the Shadows of Amn add-on) to get the full experience. There are no other expansions as far as I know. As far as parties go - I'd keep a base group of five people, leaving one slot open for any NPC (quests) you might be interested in. You can always take and drop characters as you go along, so I wouldn't worry about this too much. Have fun

You can always take and drop characters WITH THIS EXCEPTION: Never kick out any of the characters that you made yourself, because they will NOT stick around & wait for you to come back--they'll walk away and you'll never see them again. Bad.
