I recently started over as a stalker, and I just had Valygar join my group. I can't decide if this will be a good thing or not. On the one hand, with two people dual wielding and backstabbing, I'd imagine the potential for some hard core damage is high. The drawback I guess is there relatively high AC in the early going. I also have Minsc, and let's face it, you can only charm so many animals before it starts to smell. I am looking for a very FUN party configuration, not necessarily the strongest possible. What I'm thinking is the two stalkers and Minsc plus Haer Dalis, Aerie and Imoen. Thoughts. Opinions. Commentary.

It'll be a fun experience going through BG2 with that party.
I say try it, without changing anything. And what that can be even more fun, download the Happy Group Scripts from Baldurdash, and make a party on cross of alignments! Like having a party like this:

You (Stalker)
Aerie
Keldorn
Korgan
Viconia
Jan

IIRC the happy script will limit the interaction between party members.I could be wrong though!
Also for good interactions use Jan!

Lots of people seem to like Jan, but he seems weird to me. I mean, on the screen he is tiny, but appears to take enormously long strides, and his portrait reminds me of my high school chemistry teacher. Granted, my party doesn't have a thief until I rescue Imoen, but therein should lie some fun. Minsc, you open the chest. No, you do it, Valygar. So far we've gotten by bashing open stuff and using the ocassional knock spell. I'm excited to go and get Haer Dalis. I've never used him before for very long. But by not having any pure tanks in the party, with the exception of Minsc, I hope to force myself to use all of the weapons at our disposal. Special abilities, potions, spells....too often these things go overlooked and I just let tanks bash away. It was very fun taking down Mencar Pubblecrusher and his boys using only Aerie, myself and Minsc.

I am not big fan of Jan but I must admit that his lines are quite good!
The party is yours and the choice is yours in the end Lewzbel!
We are just saying our thoughts here!

Hi Helspanth! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to send a negative impression, and I certainly didn't want to discourage people from giving their opinions. Quite the contrary. I LOVE it when people respond to my topics. I was just giving my opinion of Jan to keep the dialogue going.
