diblo2 expansion: what heck do these runes do????

oookkkkaayyyy, im getting a little annoyed with these runes that you can put in socekted weapons however, it is just filling up space in my chest . i thought you could transmute them like the gems or rev postions.. any suggestions?

You need to have the latest patch from Blizzard, then yuo can insert them into you socketed weapons. Three of the same kind makes a rune one step above, there are alot of runes.
You can also create "runeword items" specific items that gets alot stronger and better and faster and and..

Well Wolfgirs pretty much explained it, but I can tell you a few rune words. You can put an ort and sol rune into a helm. (The runeword is beyond me but it does +1 to all skills.)There's honor, silence, melody and leaf too.

If you want the runes for the runewords I can give them to you when I get home. I can't remember them off the top of my head. Some of them are very cool, it's just you need things like six socketed weapons, or extremely rare runes to use them.

Well, you can only upgrade the first ten runes, the crate runes. I think all the runewords are on the Blizzard homepage. Apart from that, well, everything's been said already.
