A lot of people have a sig quote - for those that don't, or even those that do, what is the quote (or phrase of your own) that most sums up the essence of who you are?

Mine is from Ghandi, 'You must be the change that you want to see in the world.'

The first thing that popped into my head was Socrates' "I drank what?" I'm always putting my foot in my mouth and only realizing after it's too late the full ramifications of what I've said.

Another one is the one that is in my sig. "The day you stop learning is the day you start dying." I'm sure someone else somewhere else has probably said it, but I came up with it on my own. I think it is important to never believe you know all you can know. Learn new things all your life to keep yourself truly living.

Let me see now, "Silence is golden"? I usually keep quiet and I prefer the inside of my head to the insanity of humanity which I usually find on the outside, even though it's sometimes fun to participate, or at least watch.

I know a variation on that: Silence is silver, speech is golden.

One of my favorites is "Only dead fish swim with the flow". Can't remember where I heard it though.
