I'm getting one of these and just wonders whether it's any good. At £50 I expect it to be damn good! It's for my laptop which has a IR port.

I don't know how good it is, but IMHO there is nothing better than hooking up some kind of mouse to a laptop. I hate all the other options!

I believe it kinda takes pictures of where it is and where it's been, which translates to the cursor on the screen. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

The infa-red sensor detects changes in the texture of the surface it's on. That's why it won't work on a glass or a mirror. I don't think it will work with a laptops infa-red port. You will have to hook a sensor up I think. I could be wrong on that though.
