Y'know Irenicus' Black Dragon (Not Even Gonna TRY And Spell That) Well, I Used Spell Sequencer On It, 3 Flame Arrows... Barely Injured. My Whole Party Attacks It, Not To Much Affect. Without Realising, I Clicked Imoen, Cast Spell, Finger Of Death... I Was 'Happily' Battling Away When The Dragons Spirit Floats Up And It Collapses To The Floor. I Was Laughing!!!
Was That A Hard Fight Everyone? How Lucky Was I??

Normally you can depend on dragons making their saving throws unless you lower them first.

 GGGRRRRRRRRR...when will ppl start taking these things on like men ! or women for that matter =)....dont run around fighting Dragons like they r an annoyance u want to get through swiftly ! I mean the fights against all the different dragons throughout SoA and ToB r the most fun ones ! Immensly powerful with alot of HP !

@Beaumanoir: that should really make Galadria happy--Imoen is her favorite. Anyway, yes you were lucky to get through the dragon's magic resistance and low saving throws. I usually use Lower Resistance followed by Creeping Doom against dragons.

Once a wizard (preferrably a sorcerer) learns Time Stop, dragon hunting ceases to be a challenge. If you have the Robe of Vecna (and what high level wizard wouldn't?) you can 'chain' Time Stops together, casting the next TS as the final action of the first... everyone else only gets 3-4 secs to your three rounds each TS! With sequencers full of hex and attack spells, a good sorceress can take on pretty much anything all by herself. At level 20 you get what, six level 9 spells per day? Excessive use of this takes out dragons, liches, large groups of beholders, and most of the fun large scale BG2 battles provide.
 The very first (successful) time I took on the black dragon, a long, bloody battle to the end which cost me two party members and a horde of summoned beasties was MUCH more satisfying than "Ho hum. There goes another one of Faerun's most power creatures. What's next... another red dragon? Yawn." Not saying Imoen's Finger of Death o' Desperation is cheap, since it was a real shot in the dark that you never expected to work (and a great story for Immy to tell her grandkids... if she ever has any )

I would just like to b a smart arse.... Ive killed it with a Chromatic Orb.... from Uninjured... to a floating Spirit... Also I think it is calle Nizidy'imanti or somethin.
