PARIS - mmmmm Jambon et fromage baguette si vout plais. Hi Moraine - I know with the Olympics one thing that frustrates me sometimes is the two language system at every medal presenation (just seems very drawn out). Knowing how hard it is at times to find someone in Paris that admits they know any english (come on, someone must "parlez vous Anglais" ), I am thinking (with slightly evil chuckle) that there would be many Parisians that would have to sit and get impatient listening to a lot of English - I could live with that .
OK, that, and the human rights (China) thing mean it's Paris for me!!! ------------------ |

Paris...
Is it really going to be a nice environment if there are protestors everywhere in China? I don't think so. Maybe a few years later, once the issues are sorted out in China (if that ever happens) ummm... [This message has been edited by sylent (edited 07-13-2001).] |

I'd go for Paris anytime. Mon dieux, zey ar' zo cool!
And just stolling down (not up) the Rue de La Fayette with me old dad... that was great! (for those not on the know, walking uphill on this specific road will make you meet certain ... ehh women. We are nearing Place Pigalle here.) Don't think of China. They still have lots of things to learn, humanwise. |

No vote for China ?
Today is the day when all cities make the final presentation of their case. According to what I saw and heard, on TV and on the radio, it seems that Paris has the best case, but Pekin will probably win nonetheless, for purely economical reasons : a lot of companies salivate for the bounty of the Chinese market ... ------------------ The world is my oyster ! I vote for China. I think Paris would be nice but let's have some world power here. (sorry frenchies). China is a major player at most olympics they should have a chance to host.

Btw, Moiraine, what wonderful building is that in your signature ? One of the those incredibly beautiful palaces in the Loire region ?
