Are any IWers more than a little acquainted with this game? I'm trying to push through all the game's negatives and enjoy it like i did Most Wanted but am finding it difficult at best. Partly because of the "tier" system they've alocated for the cars and partly because it's so hard to earn cash once the game's career plotline is finished. Looking for tips from Carbon veterans...

Good luck... I decided to skip Carbon, I like NFSMW but carbon seemed a step backward.

Default Re: Need For Speed: Carbon

It's all a matter of taste and opinion. I loved Carbon much more than Most Wanted. But, that's also because I don't play racing games to spend 45 minutes running from cops only to get rammed into a wall by impossibly tough SUV's....

I loved Carbon, though I wish it was WAAAAAY longer. The final challenge races seem nearly unbeatable with anything other than the McLaren Mercedes (I played through the whole thing with all 3 tiers and always ended up buying that car for the last set of races....)

When you beat this game, simply drive around in free mode and do rival challanges, or redo races you've already won to get money. It's slower cuz the rewards for winning a race you already beat aren't all that great, but it works....

Lol, you thought the boss racers were tough? I finished the career in my tier 2 Monaro. What i wouldn't give for one of them as a Chrissy present.

As you mention, the rewards for post-career races are a bit of a joke. Unlocking the some of the reward cards is simply impossible without countless hours grind. I get the impression that's what the developers wanted with Carbon. They'll not get it from me.
