Shapeshifter "weapon" stats?

I was reading DSimpsons "Class FAQ" and he stated that the Druid Shapeshifter's Werewolf form had claws that were considered +3 magical weapons, and that the Greater Werewolf's claws were considered +4 magical weapons. However, my Shapeshifter Druid (lvl 13, Greater Werewolf) doesn't seem to be hitting anything greater that +2 at the most. All I get is the annoying "weapon inneffective" on Iron Gollums, Pit Fiends, and other high-end monsters. Has anyone else had experience with the Shapeshifter like this? Or is this just a bug on mine?

p.s. does anyone know if the gauntlets of crushing give an attack bonus when using claws only?

i think when you run into those types of creatures you have to shape back into human shape and use your magic weapon on them.
