Is it possible to take a time out from the story and find a nice place where creatures spawn so that I can train up some characters? I've just got Bastila but she's only level 3 which is about half the level of Carth and Mission. I'm going to keep Mission because she's a good thief (disarming mines, hacking computers). I like Carth's character and background the best out of any character so far, but I think his skills could be replaced. While a great guy, I think he's just an average shot with a blaster. Nothing remarkable. But then again he is soooo cool! And seeing as my guy is a kickass Japanese dual wielding vibroblade soldier, I don't think I need Bastila. So I'll stick to Carth and Mission for now (I've had them from the beginning).

Anyway, back to the question: Let's say for some strange and odd reason I need a different person (eg. Someone dies in the plot, someone better somes along), are there places to train up my party and get us all to high levels? I might want a bit of variety with the characters to check out their personalities and backgrounds but I don't want them to die in combat.

Thanks in advance.

You can't eject Bastila from your party, she plays a vital part in the main storyline. You should just take everyone along that that presents him/herself, if you have no direct need of a certain someone, they'll dsaty behind on your spaceship, but you could always change your party.

And as kong as there is one member of your group is still standing, nobody dies. Once the last enemy has fallen, they get up again, and will only take a bit of healing.

I suppose you could stick around on Dantooine for a while (that's where the Jedi academy is, right ?) and practise a bit while fighting Cathounds, or however these animals are called. But there really isn't any reason to, you should be able to go through all missions fairly easy.

Bear in mind that every time you take a lower level team member with you, they automatically level-up to your level No big deal

I was wondering how to "eject" party members.

Hey, cool. Thanks for the answers. I gotta admit it's pretty cool to have someone join your party who you haven't used before and then they zoom up a ton of levels.

New question: Is there a way to transfer equipment between people in your party with people at your current base? I usually have me, Carth and Mission so I was pretty peeved off when I needed to swap Canderous with Carth to steal the Ebon Hawk. This meant I had to give Canderous some crappy leftover equipment.

BTW, isn't Canderous the cleric in BG1 that joins you in Candlekeep? Bioware must love the name

Canderous has equipment of his own when he joins you. All you need to do is hang on to better armour (such as Calo Nord's armour, and Davik's) and transfer it to the ones who need it the most when you're in or around the Ebon Hawk.

Exactly my character build! The best thing about the game!

Nice to see Carth was cool in a Good game. In my Evil game, Carth was an indescisive fool who never had the guts to do anything about me slaugtering innocents. It's just too cool how the game handles Evil intentions. Go over to the Dark Side - Then the real him will show.
