Space opera recommendations.

I would like some recommendations on a space RPG/Adventure/RTS. I would like something with good space travel visuals, planets and/or stars going by. Set up a trading triangle maybe. Some combat(NOT A SHOOTER) against pirates/raiders. Maybe some strategy thrown in. Age of game matters little...old, new, DOS or WIN. TIA

Sounds like you might want to check out X2: The Threat. Here is the review from Gamespot. You might want to check it out first before getting it.

Sounds to me like you might like to try Independence War 2 : Edge of Chaos. It's story driven (rather good IMO), you can/must raid ships and the flight model obeys Newtonian physics. Don't worry, the ships have flight assisting mode, so flying is easy, but it does mean you must think ahead your battles instead of blasting away. So there's the startegy.

I recommed highly.
