I was wondering if anyone had tried the New Baldur's Gateark Alliance II game for the PS2 yet? If so how is it and should I wait to buy or go out and get it as soon as the snow quits falling?

It is basically the same as the first, with new characters and minor graphic changes. Not much of a story to it or anything, but I bought it anyway, because it is one of the incredibly few games that two players can play cooperatively. My wife and I play together. In the first game she was the sorceress and I was the archer. Now she is a cleric and I am a necromancer. I keep summoning skeletons to aid us in battle and she summons a magic sword, so we are essentially a 4-member party.
I really wish there were some good two-player games, but everything for more than one player is competative, and I don't feel like fighting against my wife...

Thanks for the review..I figure I will buy it eventually. Though my wife doesn't play...sigh.
She has no interest in any video game. I think I will wait till the price drops or I have a chance to buy it used at gamers.

I'm pissed that It's not coming out for the Gamecube even when the GC is the top console seller.

I bought it, and it was yet another awesome game. The engine is the same, but with pooled gold this time, and much better items, and story as well. It's NOT a RPG like BG2, but a hack and slash diablo II type game, which IS fun when ya wanna spend a few hours not worrying about deep RPG stat stuff.

One awesome thing in this second game is the fact that you can forge your own armor and weapons and other stuff.. with the use of runes, and gems--like diablo 2. I loved it, and IS a fun co-op game that you and a friend can play.

I WISH this engine was used in NWN, and looked as good, but with the NWN aspect.. the engine is awesome, and everything you wear DOWN TO YOUR BOOTS changes the look of your character on screen, which is one thing I LOVE.

Yeah, I also like when a game shows individual pieces of armour on the character.
In the first game, whenever my wife was feeling pervy, she'd unequip her armour and run around in her thong. Lol

Yeah, there are cheats, hit http://avault.com/cheats/

BTW, If you beat the game in easy mode, you get Drizzt as in the last game, but beating it in Extreme mode gets you Artemus!!!!
