I am still trying to decide if I am going to give NWN a try when it comes out. The main reason I really like SoA is the open plot line. I am not sure if going back to a Dungeon crawl will be satifying. It's almost as if the BG games (BG specifically BG2) have sort of spoiled me in that way. I apologize to memmy for posting a NWNish thread here, but its SoA players opinions I am hoping to hear.

Hmm, I didn't think NWN was going to be a 'dungeon crawl' as such. *gasp* if it is, since that'll be a major disappointment. I'll still buy it anyway though, I've been mentally pacing ever since I saw that 'The adventure doesn't have to end when you finish BG2' loading screen message.

Welcome to the forum...

I believe that it is bascically a very pretty dungeon crawl, but comes will a tool set to create new modules. At least that is my interpretation of the press releases I have read recently. This is why I am thinking that it may really suffer when compared to SoA. I too was really excited by the preview movie that played the first time I fired up BG2. After further investigation however, I am thinking NWN may not satisfy my need for another BG type fix (just finished TOB for 1st time).

i don't think the single player will be a dungeon crawl, but it will be pretty short. but remember it's not just multiplayer, you can download single player missions and maybe even add-ons to the main story.

First off NWN is third edition. while 3rd is good I still pefer the 2nd that bg was based on. After MY personal disapointment with pool of radiance legends of Myth Drannor I am going to get every view of NWN i can before i buy it. But to answer your question at this point i believe i would buy it.

i heard that NWN was mostly gonna be a multi-player orriented game, but who could be sure? i maan i have enough trouble trying to figure out how to play SoA online as it is! I'll probably buy it, although im not waiting in anticipation like i was when Diablo 2 was releasing Lord of Destruction...*sigh*

I'm sure it will be a lot simpler in NWN. I dont' even know how to play multi-player with SoA, and I shudder when I think about it
