Here are some fun glitches you can use in KOTOR to make your character totally overpowered
Note: You can easily finish the game with out using any of this, but once you have beat the game it's fun to goof off with these. Also I did not discover these (other then the one noted), they are copied off the KOTOR forum at Bioware- Okay. Our previous thread is getting huge, and it's time to pool this knowledge into something resembling an order so we know what we can do, can't do, and what is still being tested. First off, a huge thank you to Super Saiyan Vegeta for coming up with this glitch and everyone who has worked and tinkered with it. There are a lot of you, and hopefully we can fully nail this glitch down. Now, with all that out of the way, I'll start you out with a basic guide to the glitch. The posts after this one will explain the more advanced features of this glitch, but you MUST understand this post, as it will tell you how to perform the glitch itself. THE GLITCH This is a step-by-step illustration of the glitch. We will be using a starting Scoundrel with the intention of obtaining Master Flurry. However, you are able to perform the glitch at any time you gain a level. However, if you want to quickly and safely test this glitch out, start up a new game and follow the instructions below. For purposes of illustraion, please place your starting feat into Flurry. 1) Go through the Endar Spire, up until you finish the Bridge and gain a level. Trask should still be with you. 2) Hit Start, go to the screen you can level up at (with the Light/Dark Background Indicator). 3) Hit the Black Button, then immediately afterwards hit the A button. This has to be in rapid succession. 4) You'll see that your character's headshot is indeed the PC. However, the body shot is Trask's. You want this. 5) Level up this 'fake' level just as you would a normal level, though ignore skills for speed. Repeat this process a few times, making sure you put 1 point into the second of the Flurry Tree, leaving Master Flurry open. 6) Wait until you fake level up through 10. Then, do a normal Level Up at 11 (just hitting the A button, not the Black-A button combo). Select Master Flurry as your feat. You should also automatically gain Sneak Attack 6. Be sure to choose skills you want (if that's an option) at this level, as they stick now. 7) Check your Feats page. You should see your normal Flurry, a blank space where the 2nd Flurry would be, and then Master Flurry. Go into battle and you'll find you can use Master Flurry on an enemy. Also, if you sneak up on them, you'll do extra damage from Sneak Attack 6. Congratulations, you have a Level 2 Scoundrel with Sneak Attack 6 and Master Flurry! You can do this with any feat or Force Power in the game, with a few exceptions. Armor: You may be able to glitch up to Heavy Armor, but just because you have Heavy Armor abilities doesn't mean you have Light. See, they don't offer 'improved' versions of each other. Just different version of each other. If you want to wear Light, Medium, and Heavy, you need all 3 Feats. Implants: Same deal as armor. Toughness: There have been reports of Toughness not working right, particularly with the 2nd Toughness feat and the damage resistance. Getting all 3 isn't a bad idea. Automatic Feats: If you gain a feat automatically (Scoundrels and Sneak Attack, for example), it won't always show up on your feats menu. It'll show up in the battle log in Sneak Attack's case, however. Of course, you have to actually do a 'real' level up on the level with the automatic feat to get it. You can't glitch by it and be given it's benefits. Attribute Levels: If your 'real' level isn't an Attribute Level (4, 8, 12, 16, 20), then don't perform the real level up on an attribute level, as it'll treat it as a 'fake' level and make you level again. If you ARE on an Attribute Level, then try to make sure you 'real' level on an Attribute Level so you can gain your Attribute Point. Do you understand that? Good. In the next post, we'll see how to do "Class Swapping", which opens up a lot of interesting possibilities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLASS SWAPPING Alright, for this to work, you need 2 characters ready to level up. Let's say you have your Main Character (at this point a Level 9 Jedi Consular) and Carth, a Soldier (Level 9). Our goal here is to turn Carth into a Level 9 Solider/Level 1 Jedi Consular. Am I crazy? Let's find out. 1) Make sure Carth is in the #2 slot of your party (the middle, as it is). This is true of any class swapping. Whoever you want to receive the class needs to be immediately behind the person giving the class. 2) Perform the Level Up Glitch with your Main Character. Make sure to choose a decent Force Power if you can (though you can't fake level up a few times, so Carth may get a weaker power). 3) You'll notice that now Carth can't level up. You'll also notice where it usually says "Level 9 Solider" you have a second class that says "Level 1 Jedi Consular". 4) Check your Main Character. They still can level up normally, and you can either Glitch your way up or normally level up. Alrighty, you've swapped classes and turned Carth into a Jedi Consular. This works for ANY character combination, but there are a few rules to go by. A) Droid Jedi. These guys are interesting. They don't regenerate Force Points, but they can still cast Force Powers. You'll see their Force Points listed as XX/00. When you use a Force Power, the XX goes down. If you change areas or swap them in and out of your party, the number will reset, often to a random number. B) Lightsabers. No, 'fake' Jedi cannot use Lightsabers. This appears to require the Lightsaber feat, and that won't transfer to other characters. C) Taris. Yes, it is possible to have Bastilla turn your character into a Jedi Sentinel on Taris. The effects of this, and it's impact on you when you reach Dantooine for Jedi Training, are unknown, however. D) Triple-Classing. DON'T DO THIS! In my testing, any attempts to have more than 2 classes fails completely. It has locked up my machine and just plain not worked. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SKILL POINTS Now, you may notice that if you fake level up, you don't get to keep your skills and attributes from the fake levels. There are ways, however, to increase your Skill Points with this glitch. In fact, there are two methods, though one hasn't been fully nailed down yet. The "Intelligence" Method Here, your goal is to simply continue fake leveling and pumping your attribute levels into Intelligence. You see, they stick for the fake levels. This means that if you fake level up to 96, then real level at 97, you will gain an additional 6 Skill Points for that level. It isn't a lot, true. However, it does have some benefits. A) Quick and Easy. If you've mastered the level up glitch, this is simple. B) Skill Point Cap Increases. Ever get the message where you can't spend more points on a skill due to it's cap? Well, the higher you go in fake levels, the higher that cap goes. So, you can dump 15 Skill Pointss into Persuade at level 2 (if you're smart and save SP from creation, obviously). Or Repair, so you can fix HK-47 easy. However, this method doesn't give us a ton of skills. Would you like over 200 Skill Points in one shot? Well, it won't be easy, but there are claims of people getting skill points in the 200-400 point range. How? Well, there is one version, and while it's very specific, it's worth including here. I personally have not gotten this to work, but it's said that this works. I've heard reports of all characters getting massive skill points though, so this part is still being investigated. Jedi of the nWO has tried this method, and here it is for your consideration. This is quoted from Page 12 of the original thread. Quote: 1) Carth gives feat melee Dueling stage 1 of 3 to T3-M4. 2) T3-M4-status-Soldier 1 and Droid 3-Feat was a Success! 3) Carth out of party. 4) T3-M4 lvl´s up and learns blaster pistol stage 2 of 3. 5) T3-M4-status-Soldier 2 and Droid 3-feat was a Success! 6) T3-M4 gives blaster pistol stage 3 of 3 to Main char. 7) Main char.-status-Scout 2 and soldier 1-feat was a Success! T3-M4 gives Toughness stage 1 of 3 to main char. 9) Main char.-Status-Scout 2 and soldier 2-feat was a succes! 10) T3-M4 lvls up and learns Dueling stage 2 of 3. 11) T3-M4-status-soldier 3 and Droid 3. 12) T3-M4 lvls up and nothing...failure. 13) T3-M4-status-Soldier 4 and Droid 3. 14) Main char. lvls up and he douse have 258 skill points? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUICKER FEATS AND POWERS PROGRESSION Frankly, I can't explain this any better than SirBushnell, so quoted directly from Page 11 of the original thread is this gem. Quote: Posted 09/07/03 04:59:53 (GMT) by SirBushnell Ok, now for my final tip for the evening. Are you sick of only getting that final feat/power that you choose in the fake levelling-up process? Here is how to beat it... your characters can have nearly all the feats and/or powers VERY early on in the game with this trick. The key here is to SAVE a level for the character you want to improve. You see, when the fake levelling-up glitch is used, you add attributes, feats, and powers to the character... all of which usually disappear when you complete the process and level-up for real. HOWEVER, if your character has another level-up coming after that one... it becomes possible to keep everything up to that point. Crazy, huh? Try it, it works. The essential part of this is to make sure that you do NOT leave the level-up screen after performing the first level-up. You need to immediately fake level-up again. Upon completing the second real level-up, the character will keep all the feats/powers (and possibly attributes, but I haven't checked) from the first set of fake level-ups! Here is an example. If you want Jolee Bindo to gain lots of force powers and feats, you wait until he has at least two level-ups coming to him, and then use the fake levelling-up. (With most characters, this is easy when they first join your party as they already have several level-ups allowed to catch up to the rest of your party) Make sure that, as you do each fake level-up, you are choosing feats, powers, and attributes that you want Jolee to KEEP! In our example, we'll say that at fake level 20 you have decided that you will level-up for real. You perform the fake levelling-up, all the way to level 19, and then, for level 20, you simply click the green button on Jolee as you are supposed to. Go through and choose the final skill points (don't waste them this time, as they will be kept!), then the feats and powers that you want for Jolee. When you have accepted all these, you MUST NOT CHANGE SCREENS, CHARACTERS, or ANYTHING ELSE! STAY on the Jolee levelling-up screen - this is essential. Now, perform the fake levelling-up all over again, by pressing the black button followed quickly by the green one for each level that you don't really need. However, this time you will lose all your newly chosen feats/powers until you actually decide to level-up for real, so you don't need to be so choosy - just make sure that you can reach the maximum feat/power that you want to keep. Go ahead and then perform the real level-up when you have chosen that final feat/power that you want to keep for Jolee. Don't forget to use your skill points on that real level-up, as at this point they will count! Congratulations! When you accept this second real level-up, all those chosen feats, powers, and possibly attributes, from the first round of fake levelling-up are now yours to keep! Go ahead and test this out. Fantastic, eh? Tell me how you get on and what you think! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is one I found- Double your skill point allotment each level. Do the fake leveling as you normally would. Then attempt to do a 'real level' one level earlier then you would normally, besure this is a real level attempt that will not 'take' (like attempting a real level on an attribute level when you are not due for an attribute increase). When you get to the skills page press A to skip assigning points. Then do your 'real' level as normal and you should have twice your normal skill point allotment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is another that can give 1000+ skill points - I've got the foolproof way to get the big number skill points the only problem is that it only works for solders im working on it for the other classes and will post when i find out how to do it well anyway the way to do it is: First at any level up you have (you can even do it on the endar spire) fake level up to any attribute level (4,8,ect) example lets say your on the endar spire where you have to level up all you have to do is fake to level 3, then do real level 4 (attribute level) and when you do the level press the y button to reccomend the attribute point and the skill points you can pick any feat you want then accept and at your next level BAM 200-400 skill points. The rules to this are that you have to reccomend the skill points and the attribute points or else it will not work ive done this like 10 times works everytime but it only works once per game. Tell me what you think. Try it! Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas [ 09-10-2003, 04:48 PM: Message edited by: Rokenn ]
