I recently started playing this, and i just wanted to share with y'all what a surprisingly cool game this is.

I'm still playing the first chapter, so i'm not that far yet, but it looks promising. Key in this game is making good use of the landscape. Make sure you position your archers and siege equipment and auxiliries on heights, or, sometimes even better, in the dense forests, where the enemy cavalry can't chase them. make use of your scouts with hawks and wolves, to explore the lands, or you'll be ambushed for sure.

In the first chapter, i have to repair and cross a bridge in the land of the Helveti. After amassing a huge legion, i marched into their lands, but i got my butt kicked big time by hundreds of archers, hidden in the woods, and high on the mountains. Still a lot of work to be done before Helvetia is Roman.

Another interresting feat in this game is that you can't "create" any soldiers yourself in barracks. You get a few cohorts to start with, and then you'll have to conquer towns, where your centurions can then recruit new conscripts. So this is not a "create and attack" type of game, you have to think in this one. Always a challenge.

Anyway, here are a few screenshots i found on the web. See for yourself. I think it's a great game.
