Bashing Locks open?

I am going through the game as a solo Monk and I am in d'arnise hold and had to take Nalia for a bit to open locks on doors but dumped her right after. How do you bash open a door? I have a strength of 18 and dex of 16. You will see the reason below.

Now I am on the second floor and everyone probably knows that there is a door that needs to be opened for a piece of the flail but I cannot open it because it is locked.

I've never really had any luck with bashing locks. I guess you really have to drink potions of xxx Giant strength to have any success.

But the fact that your solo'ing with a monk, begs the question.....Do you really need the flail?

I'm not one of those exestential (?) buddhist types who doesn't need massive amounts of cash to feel important.

If I don't go to spellhold with 50k, I feel like I haven't done my job right. I guess I'll just be selling a two-head flail.

I figured that it would require a potion or something.

bashing locks is unreal in my opinion.

I was able to bash open a few locks. Bashing lock is hard for a reason. Lockpicking is one of the best advantage of a thief, if everyone could bash lock then thief would lose some usefullness. Door that can't be unlocked can't be bashed either too.

Um.....I don't think you CAN sell the flail. It was in Minsc's Inventory when we went shopping, and I don't think any merchant would buy it. Maybe it's the game's way of not allowing you to be a total idiot by forgetting where you sold one of the best weapons in the game.

Come to think of it.....how does a Monk kill Trolls?

It says in your stats what percentage you have of bashing open a lock

here's an answer to your question that i think no one answered. you bash locks by clicking on the attack button and moving it over to the door of chest. it will highlight green just like when your picking a lock with a thief, but the icon will be a sword. you probably already know this but you asked and no one answered---->just trying to help. by the way with a str of 18 your chance is 20%.

Thanks Duragon,

That was the question I was asking. I had no idea how to do it and I thought that the game would just roll for you based on your strength when you tried to open the door. Now that I know that, I can try it.

Thanks for all your guys help. And I do think that I have sold the flail of ages but I could be very wrong.
