I recently bought it for $20. It's an ok game, with a REALLY slow start, and a turn-based style that is quite different from the baldur's gate series. Looking back, I would probably wait until it was only $5-10 before I spent any money on it.

i recently picked it up for $10 on e-bay. and i would definitely recommend it...if you can pick it up for $5 or $10 (just like gammit wrote).
the turn-based combat is different from all of the infinity engine games, but it kind of harks back to the old gold box games by ssi. as a big fan of those gold box games, it was nice to see an updated version, but wish that it had been truly turn-based. (there is a count-down timer for deciding what each of your characters will do.) -manikus |

Didn't like it, too slow and the movement, interface and combat systems were cumbersome to say the least. Get Might and Magic 7 or Baldurs Gate or something.

I disagree with the other about buying it cheep. I found it had no redeeming qualities what so ever. In my opinion, it is not even worth the time it takes to install it.

Played the game for about 2 hours...
Couldnt get into it at all... I really wanted to like it too! If a friend gives it to you as a gift, for free, and you have absolutely nothing to do for the next week or so, give it a try, I did...

This is the only CRPG in my whole life I didn't want to finish because I was too bored.
There is plenty of play time, probably several hundred hours, with most of it watching lizard men move after you one at a time. Big battles can take 45 minutes on occasion. By the way, if you try it and don't like it, make sure you install the patch if you have one of the first batch of discs out before uninstalling the program, or you can lose your operating system I hear. Turn based gaming is fine. In fact, I like it. The trouble is, there are so many enemies, you become frustrated with moving 25 feet down the corridor before entering the next 10 minute battle. And it seems like the variety of enemies is limited. I bet this would be a great pen and paper module, but it is cumbersome and bland on the PC.
