Here's a random question...
Has anyone noticed that when you set the difficulty level to normal or higher that you fail to memorize 50-60% of your spells UNLESS you have gulped down two poitions of intelligence? I can't figure it out. It really bothers me too, here I am with an 18 or 17 Intelligence, which means I should be able to memorize 75-85% of all spells, but in stead I'm using batting 40%. What the hell? |

I noticed that my 18 Int mage had a less then 85% batting average. Hence, I saved before any scroll-to-book scribing. If it failed, I just reloaded and tried again. I don't think of this as cheating. It's more of an "alternate universe". (Gee, what would my life have been like if I had learned that spell?).

I do the same thing as McCool. I always give my mage 18 Int, and it says he has 70 percent chance of learning the spell, but he fails more than 50% of the time. I wonder if its a glitch?

quote: *cough* *cough* Are you playing on Normal Difficulty? Spell scribing is an automatic 100% success under Normal and Easy Difficulty. The % chance to succeed only comes into play when you play Core, Hard and Insane Difficulty. |

quote: I assume that by "normal", you mean Core Difficulty, because under Normal Difficulty, the % chance to scribe a scroll is 100%. Thus, to avoid constant and frustrating reloading, temporarily set the difficulty to Normal when you want to scribe multiple scrolls. This will save a lot of time. |
