Sunglass Man

Can you lucky peeps who already have the game give us poor folk who are still waiting something to drool over in the form of some gorgeous screenshots please ?

My copy should arrive today/tomorrow at least so I'll hopefully get some nice pictures in here for the weekend.

Posting your system specs and average indoor/outdoor FPS will also be helpful (FRAPS can be used if necessary).

Rightio, I will post a few screenies when I get a chance tomrrow.

My specs and average FPS are as follows:
Outside FPS: about 36fps constant
Inside FPS: generally 50-60fps
Dungeon FPS: about 30-40 depending on lighting and wether I have HDR or 6xAA and bloom on

My PC specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD X2 4800+
RAM: 1.5Gig of Giel DDR400 Ram
Video card: Radeon X1900XTX
MoboFI Lanparty UT crossfire edition

Of course, all settings are set to max, and the reason my average fps arent awesome is because I run this on my Dell 24" monitor and the game is running at 1920x1200 which takes quite a bit of power

Plus I have not even begun to overclock yet, but I reckon I can hit the frame limiter when I do.....

Well, I will try anyways

you'll have to settle for a screenie of my current character. i've been too busy playing to actually take screenshots and convert them.

Thanks for posting guys, there's some gorgeous shots there (especially 2 and 3 Ziroc - lovely lighting there as the sun is setting).

I finally found some time to install it on my system over the weekend. Not got very far yet but here's a random selection so far (resized slightly from 1400*900):

Settings were 1440*900 (tried 1680*1050 native but things got a little laggy ~ 15fps outside) high detail (which it auto detected) and then I increased the grass distance and shadow sliders to max. I'm quite impressed at how well this game is running on my 13 month old system - generally 20-30 fps outside, ~ 40fps within cities and ~ 50fps in dungeons:

 • Winchester 3000+ @ 2.65 Ghz
 • 1GB OCZ PC3200 VX @ 241 Mhz, 2,2,2,6 1T
 • Connect 3D Radeon X850XT @ 570/594 (SM 2.0 so no HDR )
 • 74GB Raptor
 • Dell 20" 2005FPW
My first impression when I walked outside was a combination of "Wow!" and "Wtf, eeeugh!" I couldn't believe how poorly implemented the LOD was, with the distant terrain looking like one massive, low res, blurry blob . I searched around a little and found some improvements that can be made to the oblivion.ini file which has sharpened up the distant terrain at the expense of the water going a little buggy. It looks miles better though, and the framerate hit really is minimal. Here is the edit:

 • Locate Oblivion.ini (should be in My Documents -> My Games etc)
 • Backup file
 • uGridsToLoad = 10 (5 default) - this should make distant terrain much sharper
 • uNumDepthGrids = 1 (3 default) - this mostly should fix the water problems
It's not perfect but I couldn't cope with all that blurry mess! Hopefully this will be addressed in a patch, with there being additional LOD sliders in the video options menu.

That aside it truly is a beautiful game.

P.S. Hive you have a KILLER system there (ponders ordering an X1900XT and X2...)
